I just read where our beloved Tasha Tudor passed on, June 18. She was an inspiration to me for living in a simple manner. I had, and still have dreams of living my own life in much the same way she did. I have managed to change a few things, but I lack the true determination that she possessed. She had a dream! She set out to make that dream come true, and she arrived. She turned back the clock, and never came back to the present. I feel that her way of life was more genuine than we will ever be. She wanted to be where she belonged and she belonged, where she wanted to be…And she most definitely has set a standard for anyone who desires to make their own dreams come true. She was a precious kindred spirit, that will continue to inspire me through her spirit and her work and the simple daily rituals she practiced. Her encouragement for us to “take joy” should convict us to look at our complicated lifestyles, and go in search of something simpler, and something genuine, as she did and let her legacy live on in us as I think she intended.
