Isn’t it funny how we get caught up in life as it is… I’ve decided to be true to the title of my blog, as well as my commitment to my way of thinking ie Feminine Ways, and try and make my life a little bit more feminine, dainty, beautiful, and ladylike.

In this day and age I’m sure we all could use some inspiration to follow this path. I’ve certainly let myself get off the path lately…LOL
So, in light of this I want to implement a challenge to everyone to commit to at least one activity every day that will make you feel, look and act more feminine.
In fact why don’t we choose 7 things, post them here by commenting, and on your blog if you have one (please post it here). We’ll do this once a week…Let’s make the world a prettier place by letting our feminine light shine.
Here’s mine:
- Wear makeup
- Wear something pretty and feminine
- Wear perfume
- Drink tea, coffee or cocoa from a pretty cup
- Polish nails
- Wear hair up in soft bun
- Wear dresses, skirts, pretty tops, etc.
I’ve been sick over the past year and 1/2 to the point I really gave up some of the lovely things I enjoy. I let this get in my way of enjoying pretty feminine things. When you’re sick you don’t feel very pretty. But, still being sick, I’ve chosen to live as if I’m not….if you will. I feel that it might help me get back to my old self. There’s a scripture that says don’t wear ashes, and walk around looking pitiful while you’re fasting. Well, I’m going to follow this and hopefully it will be of benefit to me as well as my family and friends….Who knows? It might just change my outlook and be a turning point for me.
I hope to hear from everyone and I’m certainly looking forward to hearing all of your ideas!
If you can’t post a comment, email me: mrsgaylynn@feminineways.com and I’ll post your blog and/or commitments here.

Ladies….this is such fun!! Let’s keep them coming!
How timely! November is my birth month, and I made a resolution that this year I will pamper myself! For more years than I care to count I’ve done for others. I will not stop doing for others, but I will pay more attention to loving myself:)
What I promised myself I would do, and these go along with looking, feeling and acting more feminine is:
1. I will feed my body only foods that are good for it.
2. I will be aware to sit, stand and walk like a lady.
3. I will be gentle and kind to myself in my thoughts; to rest when I need to; take time out for myself; and think smiling thoughts.
4. I will make sure my clothes look attractive — are lovely colors, fabrics, drape beautifully on my body.
5. I will take time at the table with my cup of tea or coffee, not carry my cup around while I do other things.
6. When I move — walk, garden, go about my business — I will be aware of graceful movements (but maybe this goes along with #2, I’m not sure…it’s more encompassing, like a ballerina).
7. I will speak with a lovely and smiling tone in my voice.

Gaylynn, Thank you! This is a wonderful idea. I posted my list on my blog. This will encourage me to do some feminine things I never take the time to do!
Blessings
What a wonderful idea! Lets see.
1. Definitely wearing something pretty – opt for a skirt or dress over pants.
2. Accessorize with something unique. I love vintage jewlery, like a cameo pin.
3. Get a pedicure. This has been on my list for a while.
4. Wear a pretty hat.
5. Hand wash my delicates. Too many of my things have been ruined in the machine. Taking time to do this will make wearing them feel more special.
6. Offer help to someone as only a woman can. Listening, being a friend or a shoulder when nedded.
7. Ask a Man for directions. It may sound silly, but it works, lol.
I have decided to do the following:
1. Wear more flattering colors and prints.
2. Give myself a regular pedicure.
3. Paint my tootsies an outrageous color!
4. Have tea with honey on the cool days.
5. Try to see all of the beauty in the trees.
6. Get more regular hair trims.
7. Let my nails grow to a respectable length.
Oh Mrs Gaylynn, as always you have perfect timing. Let’s see, 1 file & apply nail fortifyer, my nails take a beating since I use my hands for everything, including seeing.
2 wear more flattering dresses, & get a few blouse & skirt combinations to mix & match
3 learn a basic hair arrangement that complements my face & everyday dress.
4 I too need time for myself & need to treat myself more like a lady,
5 use healthier old-fashioned bath and body products
6 Make my own bread at least once a week
7 continue learninng the old ways of knitting, acquire yarn and thread for feminine household dainties worth making up.Good luck to all of you. I hope I accomplish half these things. Blessings to you. Lady Tiffany
I have decided to participate in the challenge. Here are the 7 things I will try to do in the next 7 days.
1. Take a long bubble bath
2. Wear perfume
3. Wear a Pretty nightie instead of my old one that is comfy.
4. Drink tea from my china tea cups
5. Put a bouquet of roses by my bed
6. Wear my jewelry more
7. Write a loveletter to my DH

Dear Gaylynn, one of your things is to wear your hair up in a soft bun. I’ve been working on mine too. I have an oval face and thin hair. I’ve permed mine twice this year to give it body. How do you put your hair up? I’ve done mine a few different ways; (1) high ponytail and wrap it around and pin it with bobbie pins, or (2) just gather it on top of my haid and wrap and pin it without ponytailing it. I make sure I have wisps around my face.
